Te Kura Rau Iti

Te Kura Rau Iti is a brand new primary school in the high-growth area of Flat Bush, Auckland, built by Form Construction on behalf of the Ministry of Education to serve a rapidly expanding community.

Form Construction was tasked with delivering the school as a design-and-build project, with Contrax Landscapes managing the landscaping scope. The site required over 500 metres of fencing that could handle the demands of a school environment while meeting strict compliance requirements.

The project came with a few significant hurdles. Timelines were exceptionally tight, with construction running through the Christmas and New Year period. Large sections of the site required balustrade-compliant fencing, and the product needed to be robust enough to hold up to the day-to-day realities of a busy school.

Urban Group addressed the scheduling challenge by placing a site container stocked with Assure HD materials directly on-site before the holiday shutdown. With the product already on the ground, the installation team could keep working without waiting on deliveries while Urban Group's offices were closed.

For the balustrade compliance requirements, Urban Group supplied generic PS1 documentation with pre-defined specifications, allowing Assure HD to be adapted to meet balustrade regulations without the time and cost of commissioning site-specific engineering. This kept the project moving without creating unnecessary bottlenecks.

The result is a stunning new school delivered on time and to specification, with Assure HD fencing providing the durability, safety, and clean aesthetic that a modern learning environment calls for.
