Montessori Preschool

School environments have a particular set of requirements to ensure the comfort and safety of pupils. For this Montessori Preschool in residential Christchurch, noise reduction in outdoor areas was a primary concern, so the designers specified StabiFence in Slate Grey from Urban Group.

StabiFence is a modern, solid fencing panel constructed from aluminium posts and StabiWood recycled wood–plastic composite (RWPC) boards. The boards look and feel like natural timber, but are UV-resistant and maintenance-free, and will not twist, warp or discolour.

One of the advantages StabiFence offered Montessori was its smooth, splinter-free surface, which is friendly for small fingers, and also graffiti-resistant. Importantly, the solid interlocked panels have exceptional acoustic properties, with up to 30% sound reduction both ways, shielding both pupils and neighbours from noise.

Assure aluminium fencing – a standard for educational institutions – was installed around the driveway and car park areas to provide safety for pick-ups and drop-offs.
